The S3F8S45 MCU, a member of Zilog's S3F8 Family of S3 MCUs, is designed specifically for keypads and appliances with LCD displays, vending machines, low-power applications with LCD panels, automotive clocks, and small kitchen appliances featuring LCD panels.

The S3F8S45 MCU offers a fast and efficient Z8-compatible CPU, 16 KB of Flash memory, 528 bytes of RAM, and a wide range of integrated peripherals including an integrated operational amplifier, four comparators, and a specialized PWM module, which interoperate to provide autonomous control of power and system protection. An 8-channel, 10-bit ADC can be used for current measurement and user input control.

The S3F8S45 MCU is is designed to be a direct replacement for the S3F9488 device and a suggested replacement for S3F84U8, S3P84I8, and S3F9228 devices. It is currently available in the following 4 package types:

• 42-pin SDIP

• 44-pin QFP

• Pellet (Die)
